Both rooms we were given were spot on and spotless. The Federal Reserve is in the area but closed due to COVID. ![]() Walk to Union Station and the WW 1 museum. I apologized and our three nights here were absolutely terrific. All I can say is the staff put up with me. Anyway, I checked in with an attitude at 2:00 a.m. ![]() Again, a great little hotel and very nice, but come on … you guys can do better. After reading the reviews, I wonder sometimes. Scalping folks and your staff and calling it “it’s Covid sir” is outrageous and terrible business. If that is not the case, this should have been a $100 a night place. ![]() Again, for 200 bucks a night, these folks need to hire (and train) a full staff. That never happened as I got the bill from a young lady the next day as we checked out. She agreed with a sheepish grin and brought me more towels and said, I'm going to give you a price discount on your room. For $200 bucks a night with zero breakfast, and Im supposed to ask the lady who has a cart out by my door to come on in and make beds and replenish towels? Come on. She said you're supposed to request towels and beds to be made. I expressed this to the lady behind the counter who was dressed in casual clothing giving the impression that she was a manager type who was called in b/c the staff there was over their heads and overwhelmed. All this came before I had to go to the counter too b/c we were out of fresh towels and no one made our beds, gave us new cups for coffee in the AM, etc. All the guy did was continue to stare at a computer screen for the next 10 minutes. and I was there trying to enjoy myself and had to be in ear shot of this drama. She was visibly upset and she was talking about the status of her room, blah, blah, blah. "yeah he is new and doesn't know." Then I was downstairs and trying to enjoy a drink when a woman came down to the front desk and spoke to the same man behind the counter that gave me false info about parking. I was then told by the man who was in charge of the Valet parking that "this part of the street" was for him. I was told I could park outside along the street. So cool! However, the staff was "understaffed" and didn't know a whole lot. Room was great and roomy and the bar area was nice and there was a great Vanilla fragrance all throughout the hotel. I have stayed in better motels for less money and adequate parking without having to pay for parking. We concluded that we would not be staying at this motel again. The only favorable thing about this motel was breakfast was provided in the restaurant and we could select any breakfast item on the menu. When we finally got in our room, there were partially used shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower which made us wonder just how well the shower, and in fact, the entire room had been cleaned. This hotel did not offer any assistance to seniors. As senior citizens, it is not the easiest task carrying our luggage uphill to the hotel. The Hotel has no parking and does not validate any of the public parking lots. ![]() While waiting I inquired about parking and was informed that we would be on our own trying to find a parking lot. Our misadventure started the moment we walked into the crowded lobby and discovered that the computers were down, and we could not check into our room. On June 19th, 2021, we made the mistake of choosing to stay at the Hotel Indigo, Kansas City, MO.
